General Contests
Contest Name: kabukiyasha.net October Contest (Art)
kabukiyasha.net (the "organiser") will conduct the contest in manners appropriated by the following rules and by entering, each participant agrees to abide by these rules and regulations or may face disqualification from this and all future contests held by the organiser.
1. Description of Contest
1.1 Dates:
The contest will begin at 12:00am November 1, 2004 and end at 11:59pm December 1, 20, 2004. Deadlines may be extended depending on the number and quality of entries.
All entries must be received prior to the ending time, late entries will not be judged but will still be accepted. Postal entries must have a date stamp of November 20 and no later. Entries received earlier will still be judged but only when all judging has began.
1.2 How to Enter:
Produce an original piece of fanart based on any character(s) to appear in Issues 1 and/or 2. The art can be of any medium and any size but no smaller than A5 (Original). If you have a piece of art that is close to the contest directions you may use it if it is produced after January 1, 2004.
Email your entries to contests@kabukiyasha.net in the following format:
Name: Your name (real name required, but an alias can be added if desired).
Age: This is your age before November 1st, 2004 (If you're under 13 please get your parents' permission before entering).
Character(s): The character(s) you're drawing.
Email: Your email or other contact details - this must be correct or we won't be able to contact you if you win.
URL of your Entry: Web link to entry.
OR: Attach your entry to your email, please try to keep your work under 300kb.
If you wish to send your entry via snailmail, do so to the following address. NOTE: Your entry must
have a postage stamp before the closing date or it will not be considered in the judging process.

Important: If you want your entry back you will have to send it along with a postage container big enough/appropriate for it. Self-addressed and correctly stamped for return postage. Non-Australian residents need to contact us at insanity@kabukiyasha.net
You may enter as many times as you wish, but remember we judge also on effort. You may also send a short blurb along with the picture.
2. Prizes
There will be one winner of the contest and three runners up. The winners will be announced December 15, 2004 and prizes will be sent out to eligible winners in the week following.
Prizes include:
Winner (1): A set of posters the team made for Animania (Three A3 posters, two A4s) + a hard copy of Virus #1
Runners up (3): A hard copy of Virus #1 and a poster of their choice (Any size)
All prizes include shipping.
In the event that winners are disqualified or otherwise unable to receive prizes another entrant will be chosen to receive their prizes and placement.
3. Eligibility + Limitations
Entries must not contain overt use of violent themes, profanities or other offensive material. Adult themes must be limited to a M-15 rating. The organiser reserves the right to refuse to award a prize to or on behalf of any entrant that infringes on the censorship limitations.
Employees of the organiser and members of the immediate family of such persons are not eligible ,or participation. This includes siblings, parents, children, grandparents, grandchildren, spouses, etc, whether by marriage, adoption, co-habitation or other extension.
The work submitted must also be original work of the entrant. At this time kabukiyasha.net will not accept any artwork offered to us for contests when the entrant is a representative of the artist. The participant must hold all rights of release, publication, copyright and physical creation rights to the work. Any infringement on this policy will earn immediate disqualification and a ban on entering any further contests organized by kabukiyasha.net
4. Publicity
By participating all entrants and winners grant the organiser permission to use their names (nickname), characters and art on the World Wide Web.
HOWEVER, the artwork remains the copyright of the original artist. Due to the nature of the contest however, Virus and all of its affiliated settings, characters and connected material belongs to kabukiyasha.net and Insanity Team. Any reproduction of the artwork(s) entered into the contest must credit the creators of the original manga.
5. Liability
By entering, each participant waives any and all claims of liability against the organiser, its employees and agents, the contest's sponsers, respective associates and other participants.
6. Conduct
By participating, entrants agree to be bound by the decisions of the organiser. Persons found violating any rule aforementioned or is found to gain unfair advantage in some manner in their participation or obtain placement through fraudulent means will be immediately disqualified and may be banned from entering further contests from the organiser.
The organiser reserves the right to terminate, alter or otherwise disrupt the contest as it deems appropriate. All decisions made by the organiser are final and rules may be waived at its sole discretion.
7. Legal Waiver
The conduct of the contest is governed by applicable laws of the Commonwealth of Australia, which takes precedence over any rule to the contrary herein.
